Department of History - Strengths and Achievements

Strengths:

The Department has an attainment of pass percentage of 90-100% subjects and 90 to 100% in life skill and skill development courses, maximum pass percentage in UG programmes.

The department is functioning with qualified, knowledgeable, and dynamic faculty members (2 Regular and 2 Guest Faculty)

The faculty members of the Department have completed refresher couses.  All the faculty members use ICT-based teaching-learning procedures in their teaching pattern.

Most of the students hail from an economically poor background.  In support of these students, the Department of History initiated 30-day free coaching to II & III year final year students.

The Faculty of Department of History has participated in BOS Meetings in Syllabus Up-gradation and also acts as Paper Setters.

The Faculty Members of the Department are motivating and coordinating the Students, to participate in National Webinars /  Seminars Offline and Online, by procuring Certification for the Students.  In addition, they also motivate and encourage students to participate in cultural and extra-curricular activities offered by the outside colleges.

The Ultimate strength of the Department is inviting MOUs various Industries and Institutions for the benefit of the students.

 

 

ACHIEVEMENTS

•Faculty member Dr. B. Naga Padmavathy appointed as University Nominee (Subject expert) to various Autonomous Colleges in the District.

•Dr. B. Naga Padmavathy, Sri A. Naganna are examiners and question paper setters of various Autonomous colleges.

•Organizing motivation lectures through Alumni conducting competitions to Science students.

•Dr. B. Naga Padmavathy as appointed thrice as Academic Advisor by C.C.E., Vijayawada for Academic Audit.

•Dr. B. Naga Padmavathy is the life member of Andhra Pradesh History Congress.

•Sri A. Naganna present works as NSS Programme Officer.

•Regular field visits.

•Organized Photo exhibition on life of Mahatma Gandhi and Freedom Movement.
