Department of Commerce - Strengths and Achievements
The Department has an attainment of pass percentage of 85 to 95% in core subjects and 90 to 100% in life skill and skill development courses, maximum pass percentage in UG programmes.
The department offered value added courses such as Practical Banking, Tally ERP 9.0, Insurance, Entrepenuership, Accounting Executive (Tally) and GST one batch each in the three academic years. We also offered a Certificate courses. The department is planning to introduce a new add on course on Cyber Banking.
The department offered Certificate Courses such as Tally with GST, Accountancy and Taxation, Tally 9.0.
The Department offered 30 days Bridge Course for Non-Commerce Students.
The department is functioning with qualified, knowledgeable, and dynamic faculty members (6 Regular and 4 Guest Faculty).
The faculty members of the Department have completed refresher courses. All the faculty members use ICT-based teaching-learning procedures in their teaching pattern.
The Department is having a Computer Lab with 50 computers.
Most of the students hail from an economically poor background. In support of these students, the Department of Commerce initiated 30-day free coaching to II & III year final year students.
The Faculty of the Department of Commerce has participated in BOS Meetings in Syllabus Up-gradation and also acts as Paper Setters.
The Faculty Members of the Department are motivating and coordinating the Students, to participate in National Webinars / Seminars Offline and Online, by procuring Certification for the Students. In addition, they also motivate and encourage students to participate in cultural and extra-curricular activities offered by the outside colleges.
The Ultimate strength of the Department is inviting MOUs various Industries and Institutions for the benefit of the students.
